Been thinking alot about Hope since a conversation last night. i was meditating on the promise of a living hope as described in I Pet. 1: 3-7.

Peter really seems to be onto something, and he is making a statement about the root of Biblical hope as opposed to hope of another kind. Peter knew a great deal about Hope. He denied Christ but was restored with Him on the beach after the resurrection. Jesus asked Peter "do you love me?" _ and did so 3 times. Christ then invites Peter back into the fellowship and enlists him in a great adventure which we see unfold in the Acts. Peter ends up dieing a martyrs death; this man who once denied Jesus to a teenage servant girl stood before rulers and authorities and testified to resurrection of Christ. Indeed Peter understood Biblical Hope.

That i might as well.

Well, it's been quite a few days with the snowstorm which hit the Northeast. i have spent so much time digging out i can hardly think straight _ which was a problem to start with.

i have come across a great prayer by St. Patrick, with which many of you are very familiar, and it is very inspiring. The following section in particular:

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when i lie down, Christ when i sit down, Christ when i rise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

i understand this prayer, which is much longer thant the section here, is attributed to his Breastplate, and there is definite spiritual battle language in the rest of the prayer. But Christ is all and in all.
